My Father’s Table – Toum Workshop

  • Rita

    demonstrating how to make Toum

An unexpected outcome of growing garlic has been the wonderful relationships I have developed with local growers and artisans who are equally passionate about food.  Over coffee one morning my neighbour (Rita) and I came up with the idea of promoting Moore Wollombi Garlic and developing a business idea that she had brewing.  What came about was the development of My Father’s Table.  My Father’s Table offers  informal “paddock to plate” food experiences, as well as cooking classes, authentic recipes, knowledge and know-how from various cultural backgrounds. Passionate about knowing where our food comes from, My Father’s Table has a strong commitment to sourcing fresh, seasonal, local produce. When she can, Rita likes to partner with local producers to bring the best, freshest and healthiest food to our table.  The first workshop featured Moore Wollombi Garlic and drawing upon Rita’s Lebanese background, Rita demonstrated how to make Toum and provided participants with a wonderful Lebanese feast.
