This past year I have had the pleasure of teaming up with my neighbour, Rita from My Father’s Table. Together we have planted and harvested garlic together, run cooking classes together using her amazing knowledge of Lebanese food, made passata, salami and sausages, and just recently picked and marinated olives. It seems a week doesn’t go by when we aren’t in the kitchen having a coffee and coming up with another fun cooking adventure. While doing all these things we are always mindful of using fresh local and seasonal produce. At the moment I am planning next summers crop of chickpeas, eggplants, capsicums and zucchinis to supply Rita with many of the essential ingredients for Lebanese cooking. Check out Rita’s website and how she is sharing the amazing tastes and traditions of Lebanese cooking and culture with our local community.
